Kazan


Kazan is the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, located just over 800 km from Moscow, in eastern Russia. Kazan is the Federation's sixth most populous metropolis. Kazan's most important center of Tatar culture, takes the title of third capital of Russia. Important industrial center (factories focused on aeronautics), Kazan is also one of the most important sports centers in the country, hosting several international sports competitions.


Kremlin

History, arts, the Kazan Kremlin Architectural and Historical Complex, considered the most beautiful in Russia, is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The region was colonized by the Mongols until it was annexed to Russia by Tsar Ivan the Terrible in 1552. To commemorate this feat, the Tsar had the Cathedral of Saint Basil the Blessed be built on the Red Square in Moscow in 1565.


Old Kazan

Former imperial capital of Tsarist Russia, Saint Petersburg - or SPB, for short - is the second most important city in Russia. On the banks of the River Neva, Saint Petersburg is one of the most important artistic and cultural centers in the country. Among its attractions, the Winter Palace and the Hermitage Museum stand out, one of the most famous in the world.
